I was doing my interviews for anthro in People’s Park when one of the guys I was interviewing got up to leave. While he was turning away, he said to me, “In case no one’s told you today, you’re absolutely beautiful.” I don’t think I like to admit just how happy this comment made me. It really reminded me of the little things I used to believe in and of how wonderful a stranger’s words can be.
The only reason I lied was because the truth was so difficult to explain.
